“I was in Salford, Manchester. An entire street had just been painted pink for a Barbie commercial and was being guarded by security men. Fortunately, these guards had also worked security for The Stone Roses, so we were welcomed and given access to take some shots. After the shoot, Ian very sweetly asked me to run off some prints for the local kids who had jumped into the pictures. Ian’s good nature always shone through.” Lawrence Watson
