“These were shot at The World’s End pub on King’s Road in Chelsea, which is opposite the location of the famous Granny Takes a Trip shop. The shots were originally going to be used for the cover of the album, but a short while after the session, another band used the exact same exterior for their album cover, which made our shoot redundant. The band then went back to the drawing board and Simon Halfon, the sleeve designer who had worked on the Stanley Road artwork, suggested that Peter Blake produce the cover artwork with his collection of ephemera. I then shot the assemblage on a large-format camera in his studio, so I got to meet Peter Blake. He’s lovely, a very sweet man.” Lawrence Watson

Print Matters exhibition prints will usually be shipped within 14 working days of the order being placed. We will notify directly if a print of a particular image ordered may take longer for any reason. These prints will be shipped flat in boxes specially designed for the purpose and should not be rolled, as this risks causing damage. Our fine art posters are supplied carefully rolled inside sturdy cardboard tubes and are sized to fit off-the-shelf, pre-made frames.
